I had the pleasure of working with an amazing team of art directors (Nick Kiripolsky & Prashant Patil) and fellow concept artists to create the identity of Season 3 and Season 2 of Battlefield Mobile, for iToys / EA. This was done through Globant. The game was promising and had a ton of potential.
I was tasked with creating a design system that could enable other artists to consistently make assets quickly and easily. We developed the visuals and philosophies that would define both opposing factions and all the graphics and styles that would be used in plenty of applications. The MTAR21 was the weapon of choice to exemplify color, composition, graphics, and style. It was a challenging shape to work with, that's what made it good.
We made a design brief and branding manual for each faction and each season. I designed a vector pattern library that could be used repeatedly. I also designed an instruction manual to create profile icons for the players.
This was a great project to work on, they trusted me as a designer and concept artist to expand the narrative universe of Battlefield and we did one hell of a job. There were so many reference boards and a ton of investigation done to represent lines of thought that were in conflict. I'd rather not make guns "pretty" anymore though.
