Roíneroús are rare creatures. They are born when lightning hits the crest of a breaking wave in a thunderstorm. At first, they are but a bubble of molten energy. As soon as the sun shines on it, it bursts, and from the bubble's skin, gelatinous condense gathers to form a silicate structure. The movement of the sea shapes its body. Its crests are witness to their birth, each unique in shape, color, and shine. They hide under the water until a storm rolls over to muzzle their steps.
For my brother.
